BURGER GIRL

Benjamin Dukhan a.k.a. Burger Girl is a visionary music/art performer from Paris.

Yesterday I got the pleasure to interview him during the first of the four nights pumped by La Roboterie during this summer  at La bibliotechina(EUR). They’re one of the best when it’s time to propose something new for different people. When I arrived there Burger Girl was chillin’ with St.Robot and Gianni, the creative minds behind this music project that I really like.

As we started talking he told me that I only had 15 mins to interview him, tapping on a imaginary clock! I love his “fake stiff “ attitude. Because believe me when I say that he is really kind and funny.

He was wearing a  blue shirt on a pale gray salopette before the show. I want to know somethin’ more about Burger and Benjamin itself, his next projects and what he’s trying to communicate with his performances.

So he told me that Burger girl is a name that he invented with his friends for a joke. Sperm Burger could be another choice, but let’s not forget Burger girl is well-mannered.

Above all: meat is meat.

This was 2 years ago. He told me about how important is being istintive. I think all of the clubbers who joined his performance later agree wih me when I say that He really is.

In fact his way of moving, this expression of living free his feminine and masculine side, the theatrical way  he moves his hands (glitter nail-polished of course) while wearing a cyberpunk silver armor and a black tight all-over with cowboy boots were just bizarre and natural. Except the look, he has a very modulated and high voice.

He shouts and then, listening, it gets deeper. freaky ORGASM!  Like he sings in “Burn My V****a”: a funny song about lovin’ sex. Any problems?

But please, don’t tell Burger Girl that lovin’ someone, or something, isn’t complicated.  He told me his project is about controversy, which is, in my opinion, another word for intelligent.

About being controversy: he is devoted, luckly though, to his project. He used the word discipline after instinct. “It’s about creating, meeting people, doing projects” said Benjamin.

He loves to get involved with artists: he wears creations of young designers and he has worked with directors like Fernando De Azevedo. Meanwhile, in less than a year, this beard freanch art performer  has become a style icon, working with Jean Paul Gaultier and Yohji Yamamoto. Talkin’ about fashion world, he told me how important is being not only a stupid model!

Now he’s touring in Europe. His next single will be “Kilometer Sucker”, about sex addiction.

Burger Girl talked to me about a dimension of speed (What a wonderful Wordy rapping hood), which is related to the fast way of living sex in our era. Requiem for a dream will probably be the inspiration for the aesthetics of the video.

“After all…It’s the reality of today: our sexuality! Like dreaming and waking up everyday”.

Burger Girl has a deep voice and soul.

That’s it-girl, folks!
